Unable to use your skills in a way that can benifit the organization. Managment does not have the time or apptitude to discuss and plan projects with any reasoable amount of foresight. More to the point the organization is trying to survive instead of thrive. An average working day is just like the Walking Dead, but with more zombies and fewer resources to go around.
The harder you work at the company the more demotivated you will become. It is likely that any successful work you do will be undone because every system and businesse unit is dysfunctional.
However most projects fail before leaving technical anyways due to a lack of planning and thinking. This likely saves the company money by avoiding customer lawsuits down the road. Possibly a factor in their cost savings matrix.
The job is so depressing and unrewarding that you will contemplate stopping your car on the railroad tracks at least once a week on your way to work.
