Pros

ADC has a wonderful culture for a workplace. Employees easily communicate with each other, It is highly people-oriented, you feel like you are a part of a big family from the day 1 and you can be sure that your voice can be heard no matter how ambitious your plans are. Level of care for employees from the upper-management is unbelievably high. For example They will support you fully if you want to get a new certificate or participate in a workshop that helps you do your job better and/or gives you a better chance to grow in your career path in general. During this Covid-19 pandemic which most of the employees WFH, managers continuously communicate with you to make sure you are all set to do your job and provide everything you need to boost your comfort and performance while you are WFH, no matter if it is computer equipments, home-office furniture or tips that can help you improve your learning opportunities and performance. Also CEO sends several emails every month to make sure all employees are aware of company's situation and are up-to-date regarding what will be coming next. Alarm.com also offers great benefit plans which is very competitive comparing to all other companies I have ever worked for. HQ office based in Vienna, VA is completely inline with North California office styles and offers you a lot of entertainment, hobbies and fun things to do in order to not being overwhelmed with tasks and improve your performance (Oxygen room, Cave room, Ping pong tables, video games, etc) I strongly recommend working for Alarm.com if you are looking to work for a top-notch company in Tech that values all of its employees.

Pros

- Benefits are fairly decent - The culture is amazing! I don’t think you can find a better culture than at alarm.com. Everyone is so supportive and helpful with everything! The life as an ADC employee is always fun and entertaining. There is no dull moment. Everyone is like family and when you have to make a decision to leave, it becomes the most toughest thing ever because of the tight knit community at ADC. Unfortunately, that is the only pro I can give.

Cons

- Compensation, compensation, compensation! They use you. You will NOT get paid what you deserve. ADC is a great place to begin and start your career, but it is not a place where you can stay for a long time. And compensation is the number 1 reason why. They love hiring new people, but wish they would do everything in their power to retain the talent they already have. Compensation is a huge problem here, so if you want to get paid well this is not the place for you. - Career growth and opportunities is a bare minimum here. And even if there are opportunities, it doesn’t have any benefit because back to the compensation topic you don’t get fairly paid for taking on new challenges and responsibilities. An individual’s growth in their career is lacking here. If you’re looking for a constant challenge you won’t find that here. - There’s a lot of micro-management here for some departments. Everyone who works at Alarm are all grown adults who know their responsibilities and their role. But yet there is a ton of micromanagement involved which makes you feel under appreciated at times. - Sometimes the work you do feels like it’s under valued and under appreciated because it all goes back to the compensation where you don’t get your money’s worth fulfilling the role you do. - Title changes take FOREVER and sometimes never even happen. In the beginning you’re promised a lot and then it takes forever for anything to get done. You’ll be told about a potential promotion, but it’ll be a year or two before you actually get it. And sometimes you never the get the promotion you’re promised. - Poor management at times
