Pros

Chill hours (not necessarily representative of work/life balance, but you can come and go from the office as you please as long as you scan your badge in for the day). I still work when I get home.

Cons

Poor growth opportunities and poor flexibility. People with real circumstances for wanting to go fully remote take 6+ months to get approval if they’re lucky, but more typically are denied, because of micromanagement at the highest level. This is so frustrating and hinders me from seeing myself at this company for much longer. Poor training- the onboarding consists of 3 days of non role specific general information that I could’ve gone without. In terms of my role, I wasn’t trained on archaic release cycle, technologies used, who to ask for what, etc., and the learning curve coupled with less than friendly teammates is overwhelming. Low compensation and hush hush compensation and promotion cycles. Everything seems like a big mystery that no one wants to talk about. SILOES. It takes at least an entire week to get any small thing done by the time you’ve roped in every person who has to say their piece from different teams. Overall cheapness. A lot of get togethers are BYOL (bring your own lunch) which is fine for the most part but many other tech companies who require in-office attendance provide lunch at least every so often.
