Pros

Super friendly office, pretty much 0 deadlines as an SE, company outings and events, and super flexible on schedule and moving around work for life events. Health insurance is good, and office is right by the metro stop which makes commuting great if you ride it. There are a lot of very smart engineers here and its a good place to start a career in software.

Cons

401k match is pretty low, paternal leave is abysmal at 2 weeks.

Pros

If you are a person that likes happy hour there seem to be a lot of them. Most people work 9-5, so hours aren’t really bad Lots of team events, product demos, hackathons, etc Cold brew on tap! Very smart people, very friendly (in your own groups) Free security system

Cons

Pay is horrible for this market Need to be friends with the right people to get ahead HR is an absolute joke, make sure you understand everything you sign prior to joining, they will hold it against you, I’m not sure if anyone in HR is actually ever in the office though, so questions have to be emailed VERY political, make friends early or watch your peers get ahead faster than you More time spent with meetings a week than actual work being done Location is tough with traffic, unless you live close expect to spend a solid part of your day commuting No commuter benefits
