I made some great friends and absolutely loved the crew members I worked with.
The food on my boat was great (although do not always expect this).
Little to no expenses.
Cons
The management wasn't very nice and could be downright rude.
Easy way to get field work experience and great adventure. Get to see a part of the world wouldn't have otherwise. Worked out of Dutch Harbor, AK, spent majority of time aboard fishing vessels on Bering Sea.
Cons
1 year contract during which no control over when you work. I did get the holidays off, however (not the case for everyone). 90 day deployments away from home.
