Pros

Alcoa provides reasonable compensation, very good work/life balance and a solid IT structure. Things such as PPE and appropriate tools are also provided to accommodate the needs of the worker, and Alcoa is generous in replacing any PPE as-needed.

Cons

Alcoa is highly focused on safety. So much so, in fact, that it can almost seem unreasonable. A reflection of the liability-driven society we face today.

Pros

Benefits are okay, the work is interesting with many technical advancements in the investment casting industry, good people in Wichita Falls facility, the company contributes much to the community.

Cons

Expect an endless list of priority one projects, difficult to manage family and work life at times, expect to work 60 hrs/week, 24 hr on-call and weekends, engineering salary is low compared to national average, expect to be accountable for events that are out of your control
