Good company, but can be much better

Pros

Benefits and pay are good; big emphasis on product quality and worker safety over profits. Generally a very good work environment

Cons

Bad managers are kept around and left to their own devices instead of being forced out or corrected. Fragmented leadership structure means systemic problems tend not to get solved. Managers will listen to your complaints, agree with you that there's a problem, and say "There's nothing I can do about it."

Pros

Great benefits, 401K and pention.

Cons

Closing a location due to a split and they say we're are not making money. Yet Sherman just down the way is hiring and see a future in the industry. Alcoa corporate doesn't care about its people. "The linchpin". As they say...

Pros

The pay seemed pretty comparable to other companies in the same industry, benefits were as expected, pretty standard place of employment.

Cons

Everyone began to feel that this company was extremely focused on numbers and the employee culture began to decline, which was a sad thing to see.
