This review isn't very constructive but we'll address it anyway. Let's take them in reverse order: 6. Unrealistic expectations: Our clients are working to cure disease. Hence, meeting their needs is our number 1 priority. Expectations are high but not unrealistic. Our employees take great pride in the role they play in this critical work. 5. No communication - coworkers don't tell each other things needed in order to get things done: this is something every employee can contribute to everyday, including the author of this review before they left. It takes personal accountability. 4. Toxic culture: we disagree. Our culture is unique, like every company, and it may not be a fit for everybody. It's fast paced, with high expectations, high behavior standards and a lot of change recently (and in the future). We also have a lot of fun. We have many ways for employees to contribute beyond their normal job. We have many avenues for people to grow their careers...and much more. "Toxic" is an easy headline grabber of a word but it is simply wrong. The reason I know that is because... 3. HIGH Turnover: is false. Turnover at Aldevron is not out of the ordinary. Fargo and Madison have very strong economies and over the last two years turnover has been cut in half. Could it be less? Yes and we'll continue drive it down but for our industry and geography it's not out of the ordinary. 2. No training or professional development opportunities: Survey says......false! From an awesome orientation program to tons of internal promotion opportunities to LinkedIn Learning to Afternoon of Learning events to job specific training to many more...the author should have put a little more thought into this one (and the other 5). 1. Poor leadership: we'll agree to disagree.

Pros

The supervisors are one of the best pros of working this job. They help you solve any problems that you encounter during manufacturing that you aren't able to solve yourself. There is a lot of internal promotions as upwards movement.

Cons

The company has grown a lot in the last few years. During this growth, the upper management has grown distant from the other employees and each department has grown apart from each other. This can cause some friction as this leads to attempts to communicate that don't always work. People are actively trying to fix this, so this may change in the future. I've never had dealings with HR, but more than a few employees have mentioned how the referral bonuses are never given. I at least had never heard of someone successfully getting their referral bonus.

Thanks for the review and the constructive feedback. You are correct that our growth has meant a lot of opportunities for people to grow their careers recently and into the future. You're also correct about some of the challenges with growth. We are investing a lot in people, processes and technology to create the connections and share the information that people need to be successful in their roles. Regarding the employee referral program, in 2019 we paid out over $20k in referral bonuses. We love paying referral bonuses to our employees and doing our quarterly drawings for awesome prizes. It is a great investment in our people.

Pros

People here are very friendly. The work environment is laidback and casual yet focused. The company is growing very rapidly and there are always new positions to move into.

Cons

Pay is not great, abysmal compared to other biotech companies. Communication within the company and between departments is lacking. Work load can become stressful at times.
