Work with seasoned professionals. People do care for each other. Inclusive environment. Remote work. Everyone is nice and ready to support you. Top 100 Places to Work certification.

Cons

Anemic revenue growth; Profit margins trailing historical average; Heavy debt, partially offset now by selling the Payroll business; Activist Investor (Starboard Value ) owns close to 8% of the company. Blackstone has mostly exited, but there is still another major owner who tends to sell holdings, from time to time. Board of Directors reshuffle (2024). CEO and CFO out (2024). The company is in cost-cutting mode- eliminating all office space (except for 2 tiny office locations); Decommissioning the data center (moving to the cloud) and setting up a significant amount of money aside for severance pay. A large group of colleagues retired in 2024; Positions were eliminated in 2024. No pay increases across the board for the 2023-2024 period. Most likely this 'transition' will continue well into 2025 per the transition plan. Do not mistake good corporate culture and job security go hand in hand. Salaries also appear lower, than those of Alight competitors.

Pros

Alight has good products, a great vision, and smart leaders. Primary perk is a remote first work environment for most roles. There are a lot of ancillary employee perks: lots of insurance options, employee resource groups, company discounts, moderate 401k matching, moderate donation matching, and there's a spotlight program if others recognize you for your efforts. The company values are good and they seem to be making an effort for DEI but I can't speak to how others feel impacted by it. I have been impressed with the family-first mentality - at least in my division - so juggling parenthood and career is not a burden.

Cons

Even when we meet the previous year's revenue goals and meet our own performance goals, the company doesn't always pay out our full bonus. Also, in the four years I've been here, only once did I receive a COLA raise. Otherwise it's been under 2% each year - despite my "stellar" performance reviews, extensive experience and going above and beyond my role, I have not received a promotion or a raise to meet my colleagues' salary levels "due to budget concerns." Also, "employees are completely in charge of their career paths," which is a good way for management to have an excuse not to advocate for your career path even when you go through the process to define and discuss your career ambitions with your manager. Granted, some managers are good managers and champion their employees, but if your manager is lazy you get nowhere.

Pros

Causal dress code and selected some can work remotely. Good protection against things like Coronavirus!

Cons

This is not a career. Many say it is dead end and constant fear of lay-off for those who are competent currently flooding job search market to stay ahead. Also those who got laid off also flooding job search market. LHH is their outplacement first having virtual career fairs with Alight as first company. Looking for low level ‘campus’ hires. Company basically operated by ‘campus’ hires and of course Wipros. Not very professional environment.
