If you're a woman or POC, STAY AWAY

Pros

I really liked my direct team and my job. I would have stayed if it hadn't been for toxic senior leadership, despite the low compensation compared to market. It's easy to get promoted because people are always leaving.

Cons

Where to start? Comp was extremely low compared to market and hours were insane but what drove me out was the fact that diversity and inclusion was a JOKE at Alignment. Some of the stuff that happened was downright illegal and the stuff that wasn't was slimy enough that it should be. Examples: 1. A senior leader stated that the company could not release a statement on the BLM movement because it might "offend investors". What about supporting your employees of color? 2. The CEO stated in an all-employee meeting that he "didn't realize racism was prevalent" until his daughter was called a slur in college. This is MONTHS after the death of George Floyd. Incredibly out of touch and disrespectful to POC members and employees that deal with outright racist comments and microaggressions every day and who were struggling at work. 3. Pregnant employees were not given bonuses or performance increases if their maternity leave was when the bonus went out. Pretty sure this is illegal. 4. Four people were promoted at the same time in my department. Three of the promotions (for white people) were announced to the org and the fourth (for a person of color) was not. 5. When a female manager left the team for a much higher paying job (over 40K more than Alignment), her senior leader told other senior leaders that she was leaving because she was trying to get pregnant, even when she explicitly stated she was leaving for better work culture and more money. 6. Two employees were speaking Spanish and were told by their leader that they had to speak English at work because other employees might worry that they were having secret conversations about them. 7. My (male) senior leader was always asking inappropriately personal questions about my (female) relationship with my spouse. 8. Another male senior leader always felt the need to hug me and the other women in the department or touch us when he saw us. I started working from home even before COVID to avoid this.

Pros

Amazing supportive team to work with. Pay was great.

Cons

Little control over your own panel, low CEU and PTO days compared to industry standard. Upper management continued to change expectations and schedules with little to no warning.

Pros

Ability to WFH or On-Site if requested Great Benefits Pay could be better but its not low either Direct management encourages growth Newer staff are super nice and easy to get along and work with Free lunch/coffee Room for growth to other positions within the company/different teams

Cons

Unprofessional/toxic coworkers HR won't step in or allow management to do their job Directors/VPs unprofessional, will try to make you feel little and will talk in front of you as if you are not there Hard work and dedication goes unnoticed but when you make a mistake they will spot it immediately while letting others slide You have to adjust and work around toxic/unprofessional employees per HR requests There's no favoritism but the way false complaints/allegations are dealt with is unfair to the hard working employees Newer staff deserves more recognition, especially when putting in more work that others No room for growth within the team even when work ethic is proven, its easier to move on to other positions than get better pay at current position Very easy to lose confidence and faith in the company
