-Lots of nice people who are fun to work with -Free lunch when in the office -COVID response was fast and followed all CDC guidelines

Cons

-Not an agile shop, leading to high turnover and burnout -Many projects are based on client commitments and mandated to be completed on time (often times with additional scope) -Missing a sprint commitment is a cardinal sin since it reflects badly on tech leads / engineering management -Engineering management and "tech" leads (considered to be managers) do not want to hear concerns. -Voicing concerns can be seen as "negative" feedback. I was coached to try to put a positive spin on them to more effectively communicate with my tech lead and one other teammate -At the Senior Level, don't expect career growth unless you want to work on highly visible (i.e. extra projects on your own time) since it requires buy in from more than your direct manager

Fast Growth Company Done Right

Pros

Culture - all teams seem to be rowing in the same direction and invest energy in supporting one another. This is one of the hardest things for a young/fast company to maintain, but at the moment it's working incredibly well. Transparency - open communications policy internally and with customers. It's one of my favorite traits about Alkami. Recognition of what parts of the business need attention and willingness to invest early to make improvements. High performance peers - lots of people to learn from and compete with. Definitely a boost to have peers that can contribute to your career growth and development. Consistent strategy - regardless of the company stage, the strategy has remained constant and simple.

Cons

Depends on your frame of mind. Having spent a career in fast growth companies, there is nothing here to complain about. I like quick pace and rate of change. There is a LOT of activity and we're balancing resources to care for each parts of the business as it grows. There are plenty of growing pains, but the culture of transparency and positive problem solving make all the difference in how it feels.

Pros

Good work-life balance -- hardly ever had to work overtime or on weekends. Employees are all pretty friendly, intelligent, and fairly easy to collaborate with. Compensation is fair. Tech stack remains relevant. Free provided lunch is nice. Location is great as well. I'd say that the company seems to be headed in the right direction.

Cons

- Working from home is frowned upon by HR. - The founder of the company can also come off a bit aggressive when disrupting dev teams with sudden issues. - There's no 401k match.
