Pros

I worked at Alkami for just over 2 years, and I consider my time there to be one of the most rewarding experiences in my IT career. The company has some extremely talented individuals that will help you to grow and learn and push you to be better. There are difficult challenges to every company and IT shop that is currently in existence. But what I appreciated about Alkami and being a QA there is the support and backing you get from the Managers, Directors and your peers around you. You'll never find anything like this anywhere else. My very first week at Alkami, I remember a meeting we had with all QA, and the Director talked to us about having his full backing to push back against builds and tickets that would come to us incomplete or with issues. This wasn't lip service, this was legit. I've honestly never felt that kind of support before. Another example of an experience I had there, the company is growing incredibly fast and thus there are some environmental issues, these issues seemed to appear when the environments would get pushed to the max during the regression sprints. Management would have one on ones and ask for help to identify area's that affected us and helped with ways to improve the areas, to help decrease the environmental issues. Management always seemed to involve everyone in collaboration of QA ideas and processes. One of the best parts of Alkami is the comradery on the teams. I was given the chance to work on 3 different teams and managed to create some excellent working relationships on those teams with the developers, scrum masters and product owners. The people there are extremely talented but also helpful and friendly. I never had 1 issue with a single employee there, always felt like an equal and made some great friends. Never felt I couldn’t ask a question and would be left hanging. Always felt comfortable to approach anyone there, and always felt like everyone was willing to help. Alkami is extremely organized and structured with some sound processes. You know what you are going to do, when you are going to get it done and how. The sprint planning sessions and overall organized processes are another great experience to be had at Alkami. I really appreciate this now more than I did while I was there. The organization and planning is unmatched. If you are given the chance to work at Alkami, I would take it and not look back. This is a great place to work, it will improve your knowledge and give you experiences you'll never gain anywhere else. The management work hard to give you the tools that are necessary to complete the work, while also giving you an environment to bring your own experiences to improve the teams and working environment. You'll work with some of the greatest people ever from all walks of life, and people who are very talented and work hard. This is a great place to grow, management has your back. The QA team is one of the best, great people who are talented and work hard together. Great place to work, I miss it.

Cons

In a fast growing company, there are going to be growing pains and times where things don't go as well as planned. That's not unique to Alkami.

Thank you so much for sharing. We are so glad you had a chance to contribute to our culture and want to thank you for recognizing the QA leaders for their hard work. Of all the things I've read across our Glassdoor reviews, the fact that you mentioned these leaders create a great environment for our Alkamists to grow and be successful is my favorite! It's a great feeling to know that Alkamists can come to work and be their best everyday. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback.

Pros

Decent Salary (i.e inline with the current market rate)

Cons

* Incompetent, fake manager's with Plastic personalities and hidden agendas (significant amount of blatant, extreme shade on multiple levels & highly unprofessional, unscrupulous tactics used, especially within Senior QA management) * Extremely unstable QA environments, that habitually go down multiple times during most sprints, resulting in many, many long days/nights (which slowly became the normal practice) * Unnecessary amounts of wasted time using old/budget tools, which often create more problems, than solutions - outages, slow performance, did i mention outages??? * Extremely 'clicky' so-called 'culture' formed After the recent huge recruitment campaign, which resulted in many folks being isolated and ignored, simply because they were not part of the 'click' so to speak - very unprofessional, but not unique in this industry. * Spiteful chat rooms within the IM app used, where extreme hate, gossip, racism and rumors run rife - btw QA management is aware of the existence of these (multiple) malicious chat rooms, yet allow it to continue - again, highly unprofessional on the part of the management to allow such negativity and hate to continue to grow and be acceptable within the workplace. This is the first company i have even worked for that seems to almost encourage this type of hateful behavior. * Don't be fooled by the very lavish exterior and logo on the building - seems to be a ploy to get more client companies to sign up by wowing them with the luxury decor - After working at Alkami for several years, it has become blatantly obvious that they are just playing with their clients money to make the 'image' look bigger, brighter, better solely from a 'material' perspective...i.e. Fancy furniture, decor, etc, however, it's apparent that they are not allocating sufficient funds to improving their terrible IT infrastructure, which has multiple weak points & holes in it, the result of which, their client companies and end user's ultimately 'pay the price for' * Advice to anybody looking to join the growing group of 'unprofessional' folks that the management appear to be actively recruiting, is be wary of the 'image' that they portray, as it's simply that, just an image with no Real substance behind it. *** Final thoughts : *** If you are a fake, unprofessional person, you'll likely do well here, however, on the flip side, if you have a conscience, work hard and try to maintain a professional attitude, then you most likely will sink very, very quickly, if you don't drown in a sea of blocked tickets first, due to the poor infrastructure that this company fails to improve as they're more focused on building their exterior image, to entice more companies to sign up with them. Oh, they also are yet to make a profit - Yes, you read correctly - they will not hide this from you, which is a nice touch, in fact they are quite vocal about the fact that they have yet to make a single cent of actual profit. Something just isn't right about 'any' company that has been established for a decade, yet has not made a profit, yet can spend millions of dollars on revamping the office floor's. That alone should sum up their ethos. #fancyboilerroom #unprofessionalism101 #fakeimage

Pros

Good health benefits, 401k matching, performance based PTO, pet insurance discounts, free catered lunch every day, gympass, stock options, fun events! Alkami has worked hard on their corporate culture and it shows. Very collaborative environment all the way through top leadership. Alkami is very fast paced but is doing a great job of maintaining the culture during periods of high growth. Culture is very important at Alkami in terms of how we think, act and interact. Everyone in this company has a voice and is heard and I have very much felt that my ideas and input are valuable here. Leadership listens to their employees and really works intentionally on making positive changes.

Cons

None that I can think of!
