Pros

Building location. 10th floor cafeteria is large and can work there. Free lunch (pro and con because you work more). Fast growing company. Stock options (in anticipation of IPO). Relatively flexible if need to come late/leave early for doctors appointment and kid related events (depends on manager - some are major micro-managers). 401K is only 2% match but is a start. Decent health benefits paid for by company. Unlimited PTO - if you can ever find time to take off and if your manager believes in PTO.

Cons

Extremely toxic environment for project managers. Very high turnover for PM’s. Majority of current PM’s have been here less than 6 months. Many who are still here would leave in a heartbeat, but can’t find a job elsewhere or working so much we can’t apply and interview elsewhere. Those who got away are happier, drink less, lower blood pressure, lost weight without trying, better work/life balance and all around happier. This includes those who were able to shift to a different department within Alkami. They will attest it’s so different. Alkami as s a company has potential, however, the PM department is terrible and toxic. Upper leadership does not care or support PM’s. PSO-PM is the ugly stepchild - upper executive leadership pretends they don’t exist and does not support them, more like denigrates and abuses them. They work so hard and do so much. Direct PM leadership (Leads, Managers, Director, etc) are not trustworthy and generally, except for one or two, are unqualified, unprofessional, gossips, negative, loud, narcissistic, extremely weak resources to the team and company. If you are a good employee you will not get promoted and just work like a dog with no support or respect. You are beat down, overworked, berated, spoken to condescendingly or ignored to be abused by clients, unsupported and not respected by other departments, When other departments don’t do their job or mess up you get beat up by the clients and worse by internal management, because PMs are seen as worthless and should not be supported and should take the brunt for everyone. No other department is held accountable for their work or lack of work and delays. PM’s are internally berated and held accountable for everyone. Don’t expect your managers to try to help shield some of the abuse, even though they know it’s not your fault and literally out if your hands. You can find PM’s literally crying, shaking in anger and frustration, contemplating just quitting, or drinking in a corner often. Several top PM’s have outright quit without a job lined up because it wasn’t worth it. Unlike other teams there are no team building events, PM appreciation events, luncheons, happy hours, etc. people just work work work then go home late to work some more. The stories here are very sad of how depressed PMs are. Alkami has lost amazing PMs and leaders because of the toxic PM culture and PM work environment. Also HR has been informed for years of these concerns by many and in detail during exit interviews and bi-annual reviews. They know how bad it is and they do nothing substantive to help. We’ve heard that most concerns discussed to Hr have returned to management ears including who submitted the concern thus opening for retaliation. Beware to go to HR for support, concerns, complaints, etc. you’ll likely face some form of retaliation from management. Subtly ask around and hear the stories. Be careful and aware. Be careful who you trust and talk to in the company. It’s a sad place for PM’s.

Our philosophy at Alkami is that feedback is accepted as a gift, and we garner and encourage it in many forms. We extend appreciation for all feedback left on Glassdoor, even the tough ones, but we are surprised by your perspective here on Glassdoor. First, and most importantly, it is important for us to address your allegations of retaliation - retaliation is not tolerated at Alkami - absolutely and unequivocally never acceptable! This is something that we take very seriously as it goes to the heart of being able to openly communicate in an environment of trusted-accountability. We deal with any proven allegation quickly and decisively, and promote and protect a culture that welcomes open dialogue and discussions free of retaliation. We acknowledge that we are not perfect, and we continually must work to improve. The Project Management role of enterprise-class software offerings like Alkami’s is by its very nature a very important and challenging role given the convergence of solution complexity, continuously maturing platform, and our focus on client satisfaction. It requires a rare set of organizational, technical, interpersonal, process and perseverance qualities and skills. This is made even more complex and challenging when the organization as a whole is growing and maturing very quickly. Our efforts in support of our growth and success of our Implementation/Project Manager team include adding and promoting new leadership, quadrupling the PM team, adding educational programs, updating processes and creating tools. Based on the feedback received from our Alkamists, these efforts to scale and invest in improvements are being noticed very positively with feedback received from our most recent anonymous internal Alkamist survey and through other forms of two-way communication within the Implementation/Project Management teams. We would welcome the chance to speak directly with you about these concerns if you feel comfortable giving us the opportunity to do so.

Pros

Free food, Office is nice, some people are very friendly and good at their job.

Cons

Bullies everywhere! Extremely toxic environment. All these 4-5 star reviews are bogus and probably written by the suck ups who management promotes. Extremely disorganized tech environment where nothing gets done. Shame, since this place has so much potential if you get rid of the dead weight keeping you down. They are always hiring - because it’s a revolving door.

We appreciate all feedback, and we were deeply disappointed to read about your experience. This is so greatly contrary to who we are at Alkami and bullying in our workplace is not tolerated and is clearly contrary to our policies. In fact, top scores for us in our Alkamist engagement survey is “my immediate manager encourages two-way communication” and “my manager listens to my concerns and suggestions” at Alkami. We value all of our current and former Alkamists feedback and would be happy to learn more about your experience during your time here so we can continue to learn and grow. We would greatly appreciate you to contact our Human Resources team directly so we can garner greater learnings from your experience with us.

Pros

There are tons of pros: Free lunch. Food is good too. Free beverage (coke and carbonated water) and snacks. Unlimited PTO and 5 sick days off. Manager is cool about taking offs any day i want. Stock Options for Sr Engineers. HR concerned about people. Very talented colleagues. Interview process is a bit rigorous but that ensures good people get selected. Dental, medical, vision free for employees. But a little expensive when families get added. 401k Match (recently started). Lot of parties, free t-shirts, food. Fast growing company. Work life balance. Pay is higher than market.

Cons

No gym. we use building gym but that is not great in any sense.
