Pros

This is the perfect starter job because it has competitive pay, a friendly community that holds plenty of family-friendly events, and great networking opportunities. The company has enough vertical integration that you can completely change careers while working for the same company- and many times this is the case.

Cons

Understaffed when it comes to engineers, but that is also why the current engineers are paid well. There is a gap between field/project engineers and management so the company certainly welcomes new talent.

Benefits,decent equipment and it’s a relatively easy job.

Cons

Layoffs ,weather,hours aren’t predictable. Safety is paramount until it isn’t. Dump drivers are treated as THE lowest form of employee.

Pros

The Pay and benefits were better than average compared to other non-union heavy highway contractors.

Cons

Management was dishonest, vindictive and eager to punish employees with days off (suspensions). Me and other employees were constantly being cheated out of prevailing wage. I saw a great deal of turnover during my 1 year as an employee.
