There is plenty of opportunity to learn and take on stretch assignment

There is too much work and extremely tight timelines for any team. EVERYONE is understaffed. EVERYONE is doing more than their job description. Leadership doesn't care how this impacts morale or personal lives, only that the work gets done. To get promoted you have to do the job you want for years, interview against a ton of internal and external people, and still might not get it.
