Pros

Good entry level training, strong culture, ethical and high income potential. The onboarding and initial training is industry leading and the recruiter to sales alignment provides great guidance for recent college graduates. The organization has invested in state of the art technology and a quality process that provides a competitive advantage if/when followed and utilized properly. There are competitive incentive opportunities for high performers. National/International operations offer great networking opportunities to meet client needs.

Cons

Long term employee development lacks formality and structure. Initial training for recruiter and account management roles is intensive and structured but becomes intermittent and unstructured beyond that unless moved into a leadership role.

Pros

They reward ambition and drive. They also have an expectation that you will compete against and support your team-mates at the same time. You will definitely get exposed to some very marketable skills. If you have ever worked somewhere else, you just might be amazed at how professional this outfit is. It is not uncommon for someone to leave, then try to get back in. The grass is definitely not greener on the outside. When there are disagreements with colleagues, it is expected that you will address the issue and resolve the issue. It feels like a healthy family to me.

Cons

It is tough to be successful just working 8 - 5. Lots of pressure to perform at a high level and sustain that over time - not easy. Some big hitters get away with some fairly arrogant behavior that would not be tolerated if they were not bringing in so many pelts. Lately, as things have gotten tough in the market, we seem to be curling up a bit and not making it safe for our partners to do their best work. It feels guarded right now, and I believe we need to be more aggressive than our competitors. Not all of the managers know how to communicate effectively in order to inspire workers.

Pros

It's a great place to start a career. The internal projects were interesting and exciting when they lasted. The people were great. The benefits and bonuses were also great.

Cons

If you plan to understand the industry, staying longer at the company arms your technical abilities. The technology was customized to their flavor so ERP and CRM applications were basically customized. The other downside is that the salary ranges varied disparagingly so if you attempted to look for another job the outside salaries were much lower than Allegis. Reviews were very subjective and not much thought really went into them. Employees were allowed to write their own reviews so if they had it good with a manager, s/he basically used whatever you gave them. Upper management were all friends-of-friends so its was difficult to get promoted into that upper echelon. Some employees who worked hard but did not work the long hours were not recognized for "face time" which was unfair. Great company if you own stock but the stock options were not available to every employee as again it was subjective as to who got stock based on likeness and not necessarily on performance.
