Pros

I was a summer intern and had an amazing experience. The people are both very talented and friendly. Almost all funding comes from Paul Allen so scientists are focused much more on the science and discovery rather than publishing, grants, etc. All their data is published on their website for anyone to use. I learned a ton just from the weekly research presentations from in house and visiting scientists in their large atrium. This is by no means an exhaustive list of the pros, Allen Institute has so much more to offer.

Cons

They have free coffee on 6th floor overlooking South Lake Union, its a great spot to take a break, only con is that coffee is not that great.
