Pros

- Decent Benefits - Only work 3 or 4 days a week (10 hour shifts) - Somewhat of a work life balance

Cons

- Poor safety measures and absolutely nothing works. - Apathetic, sexist and lazy management from the top down, especially the Days Operations Manager. - Awful attendance policy (occurrences and attendance points for leaving early). - The CORE is either brutally hot or cold. - No real potential for career advancement. - Supervisors know next to nothing about the departments they supervise. - Trainers (mostly good) who have been in the department for years usually get past over for supervisor positions for employees outside that department.

We take any safety issue very seriously and are committed to a culture of safety. We have programs in place, including an onsite, full-time Certified Early Intervention Specialist for job coaching, preventative injury intervention and treatment of minor discomfort and an onsite health clinic for our employees and their families. Working in a cleanroom setting can be physically demanding and we are clear with potential applicants about what the job entails. We also encourage employees and managers to have conversations about concerns. Thank you for the hard, purposeful work you did for us as a Tissue Processing Technician at AlloSource.

Pros

A steady job, decent benefits bur not any better than other places

Cons

Really don’t care about their employees. And tend to white-wash everything in their “mission”

Pros

The paid time off was approximately 6 weeks (including sick days) when I worked there.

Cons

Upper/Office Management is completely disconnected from the technicians tasked with creating products. Another troubling issue was that technicians were pressured by both peers and management to not leave in the middle of a process (the processes I worked on took multiple hours to complete). Multiple times people were unable to leave to use the bathroom or get water. I understand it’s a sterile environment, but it sure isn’t going to be sterile if someone urinates, defecates, or vomits. I heard reports of all three happening and witnessed the pressure placed on employees to remain through the whole process.

Tissue banking is a uniquely specialized industry. Working in a cleanroom setting can be physically demanding and we are clear with potential applicants about what these jobs require. Specifically, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and processing a product that is sensitive to time/conditions in an ISO certified cleanroom environment inevitably requires pragmatic timing for water breaks and bathroom breaks. However, these breaks are clearly and openly provided. Our employees find it both challenging and rewarding to work in a high-performance culture that is led by transparent communication.
