Pros

Consistent work, easy to get into without experience

Cons

Long hours and not great pay for the amount and intensity of the work. No real opportunities to move up in the company.

Thank you for your comments. We truly believe each AlloSource employee makes a difference and appreciate our employee’s dedication to honor the gift of tissue donation. In reference to your comment regarding pay, we conduct an annual review of salaries and analyze both nonprofit and for-profit companies in comparative industries to help ensure we offer competitive pay. Additionally, we offer career laddering paths for those looking to grow. For example, after training, working, and meeting eligibility requirements for a minimum of one year as a Tissue Processing Technician, an individual is eligible to pursue a Technical Quality Expert role.

Pros

A steady job, decent benefits bur not any better than other places

Cons

Really don’t care about their employees. And tend to white-wash everything in their “mission”

Pros

The paid time off was approximately 6 weeks (including sick days) when I worked there.

Cons

Upper/Office Management is completely disconnected from the technicians tasked with creating products. Another troubling issue was that technicians were pressured by both peers and management to not leave in the middle of a process (the processes I worked on took multiple hours to complete). Multiple times people were unable to leave to use the bathroom or get water. I understand it’s a sterile environment, but it sure isn’t going to be sterile if someone urinates, defecates, or vomits. I heard reports of all three happening and witnessed the pressure placed on employees to remain through the whole process.

Tissue banking is a uniquely specialized industry. Working in a cleanroom setting can be physically demanding and we are clear with potential applicants about what these jobs require. Specifically, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and processing a product that is sensitive to time/conditions in an ISO certified cleanroom environment inevitably requires pragmatic timing for water breaks and bathroom breaks. However, these breaks are clearly and openly provided. Our employees find it both challenging and rewarding to work in a high-performance culture that is led by transparent communication.
