Pros

Great opportunities to learn the industry and be part of a big change. I like my managers and their vision as well as the company's overall mission.

Cons

Employee tracking (hours and projects) can be counterproductive and take away from your energy and enthusiasm.

A decent place to work

Pros

Despite some of the cons, allscripts still is a pretty good place to work. They really work with there employees to try to develop them. Everyone has a voice. They are family orientated and have a respectable concept of flex time. Pretty good benefits. Most every one is easy to get along with and respectable.

Cons

Very political - largely because everyone gets a voice. Rapidly changing culture. Annual reorganizations. Distant management. Sometimes the restructures mean that you "loose" a position on a product team. But.. the company does take the time to help you find another internal position.

Pros

Employees at the company look out for each other, and are usually very helpful to help each other in difficult client facing situations, and to learn more about relevant corporate/ product/ industry information.

Cons

The products had weaknesses at times, and management/ developers did not incorporate the weaknesses as implementation/ smaller clients communicated potential improvements. Unless a big client demands, products did not look too strong (and front line employee had to face the customer frustration.) The company also based evaluations on utilization, and assigned , thus implementation team members could not themselves affect the utilization matrix.
