AVOID - Dysfunctional and oppressive

Business Outlook

Pros

Flexible work arrangement -- work from home.

Cons

This is hands down the most dysfunctional and oppressive professional experience I have had. Most of the C-Suite are unworthy of anyone's respect, and they have zero concern or respect for their employees. Morale is in the gutter. I struggle to find anything positive to say about Allscripts after a year of working there, and feel it was a total waste of time.

Pros

At its core, there are some very motivated people at Allscripts. Unfortunately, employee turnover is rampant as are the nearly continuous SG&A cuts.

Cons

There is no upward mobility There is no integration across software platforms They continue to fall behind market leaders EPIC, Cerner and even Meditech The company is fighting for relevancy

Pros

Flexibility to work from home or in office. Managers tend not to micro manage and are able to be reached when needed.

Cons

Recent lay offs have brought the company moral down. Less employees means more work for others. On-call/beeper schedule has gotten better but is still a pain, occurs ever 8-10 weeks.
