Pros
Good location in Raleigh, near many places to eat. I had amazing peers and the loyal clients we worked with were really great.
Cons
I worked for Allscripts for several years. I saw the culture and business practices devolve greatly. The client is secondary and that's not how it was years ago. They went through a string of executives over the years, all of whom came in wanting to make significant change. They hired executives and senior management who were not people focused. They often had layoffs focused on position eliminations vs. getting rid of low performers. Because of this we were often left with knowledge gaps and people who were not performing. I often received complaints directly from clients as well. If you are looking for career advancement it is hit or miss at Allscripts, but mostly miss and dependent on who you know and who likes you. We were not allowed or encouraged to get outside or industry training that was needed to maintain our skills. When I first started it was truly a great place to work. However, the loss of committed executives who were focused on improving Healthcare and taking care of our clients and their patients changed that completely and made Allscripts a miserable place to work.
