Pros

Dedicated, hardworking, knowledgeable & friendly co-workers. Above average PTO (if you are actually able to use it). Products improve healthcare quality. Most departments offer flexible hours & remote opportunities.

Cons

Complete lack of work/life balance. Wages are below industry standards. Management teams are top heavy & political. Individual contributors are not valued. Gender & racial inequality is prevalent. Within an 8 week timeframe, 4 long-term female leaders under the finance umbrella submitted resignations. Additionally, our highly experienced & well respected female CFO unexpectedly resigned after less than 1.5 years with the company.

Pros

Jeans every day of the week if you want

Cons

I don't think anyone REALLY likes it here. Perceptions and politics rule. Very much a good ole boy environment. Management is absolutely terrible. I have never seen so many clueless greedy morons scramble to save a dying company. It's actually pretty fascinating to watch. No one cares about quality of the product or integrity, and now they wonder why customers don't like us. Developer friends tell me all the best have been leaving for years and the products are riddled with bugs. The high departure rates of employees and customers bear this out.

Pros

The people I worked with are great. The benefits and building were nice. My commute was not too bad. The cafeteria was great. Loved the shrimp and grits.

Cons

Short sighted decisions and not taking care of employees caused a large chunk of our group to look for other opportunities. Then the reward for not jumping ship is getting laid off. That is after taking on extra work for the people who got out before the ship sank. They blamed the cuts on Covid-19 even though our group’s revenue was way up due to more demand for our patient engagement products. Most of my co-workers couldn’t believe they let several people in our group go. The rest who weren’t laid off got 15% or more salary cuts and their raise deferred for 1 year. This is after we were told our group was safe from cuts because of how profitable we were. I do not recommend you work for Allscripts. There are better places that care more about the people who work there. I have several interviews lined up and will make sure to recruit heavily from the talent left. I am sure they are eager to leave before becoming the next target.
