The decision making capabilities of the C-suite guys have not been moving the company forward the last few years at all. - Poor decisions made to buy companies with horrible technology stacks and/or legal issues raise questions about why these were done in the first place. Adding these crappy companies to the mix makes things worse because the people that understand the technology that was bought leave after they see how poorly managed things are. - Too many mid-level managers that like to empire build, which discourages collaborations between teams which is absolutely critical at times. - The morale is beginning to go down the drain on many teams, as there have been a lot of layoffs in the last year alone. - Some managers should not be in the positions they are in because they have no clue how things are supposed to work. This is a detriment to the team of people they are managing. - Attrition, whether by layoff or people leaving of their own accord, is only going to get worse. - The stock is tanking and has been on the down slope for years because of poor decision making and wasting money on products that are little more than smoke and mirrors. - Some pet projects are rife with innuendo in terms of code names for products, alcohol consumption during working hours and management that will yet at and berate employees because their own poor planning has caused missed deadlines. - Promotions here are hard to come by in the US. The workers in India all seem to get promotions much faster and to the higher levels (Principle & Expert levels) without having spent a lot of time with the company. - Changing teams is very difficult. Management seems to value keeping people in place, which usually causes burnout, instead of letting the employee continue their career how they see fit. This often leads to the employee leaving the company for a better opportunity, which is what they were trying to avoid in the first place!

Allscripts (=the company) tried desperate to keep the SMG account (=the account) for the duration of the contractual agreement. The client was very unhappy due to bad reputation in professional services for several years. As a new employee in the account, I saw one manager to get fired after another and without noticed. The former manager director presented to work after his/her vacations, and he/she was immediately dismissed. The new manager knew the situation but accepted the role anyway. I was told that this is not the first time it happened. As a conclusion, I could not find any documentation or hardware/software inventory in all those years the company was providing services. Projects were started and put on hold for long time, since no one had a clear picture of what the client needed and the company managers did not know what to do or who was the owner or any tasks. The company upper managers encouraged employees to not participated in the account’s meetings. The company managers discouraged any type of HR training or events in Raleigh NC or any other place. Finally, the client dissolved the contract and many of us were RIF out. I am an experienced professional. I do not believe that Allscripts is a serious company to work.
