Pros

Good communications between the individuals and leadership levels. There are good opportunities to advance positive change. A friendly and enjoyable environment to work in.

Cons

Leadership can sometimes focus on the larger products to the exclusion of the smaller products. Understandable to some degree but it can go to an extreme.

Pros

Opportunity to move up. If you're bright and have initiative, then you'll have a place to shine. The compensation is good.

Cons

At times, you will carry a lot of dead weight. There are many people that have managed to stay on through mergers and acquisitions that don't (or can't) do any critical thinking. Too many mergers and not enough focus going forward. To many VPs trying to kiss up instead of focusing on their products. Because a lot is on fire, expect to be working periodically on the weekends. No real culture from what I can see. The buildings were dingy and not enough light. If you were a director or above you got an office on the exterior corridor which meant you got to see the sun. Otherwise it was hit or miss.

Pros

At its core, there are some very motivated people at Allscripts. Unfortunately, employee turnover is rampant as are the nearly continuous SG&A cuts.

Cons

There is no upward mobility There is no integration across software platforms They continue to fall behind market leaders EPIC, Cerner and even Meditech The company is fighting for relevancy
