Pros

Pay was good, I liked my job as a systems support engineer for the first ten years, I liked helping people and felt appreciated , but when they moved me into the so called systems engineering roll with no training not so much.

Cons

Management for my department changed four times in my last six years at Allscripts before I was laid off Oct 6 of last year. I waited a year to post anything about the company because I was very bitter about how my 16 years ended there in the Boston office. But I’ll just say I stayed 6 years longer then I should have, and now work with great people and feel part of a team again. I believe most of the development and QA staff really don’t like the product and for the most part are miserable on a daily bases.

Pros

Benefit costs are pretty cheap in comparison to other companies. You have a PTO bank that can be utilized for sick or vacation time.
