Pros

PTO, flexible schedule, remote work, peers are great

Cons

No on-call pay, little or no formal training, weak leadership, layoffs, push for way too much offshore, unhappy customers, little investment in employees, low moral.

Pros

Hybrid work model Good work-life balance

Cons

- Horrible family benefits. I was paying almost $800/mo for a ridiculously high deductible plan. - Extremely political - Is entirely bent on money, not its employees - massive 10% layoff in 2020-2021, tiered pay cuts, no merit for 2020 nor 2021 - Upward movement is very difficult - Covid-19 vaccine mandated for all - even fully remote employees. The reason? "To be community leaders" according to President Paul Black - Heartless - denied religious exemption for the vaccine saying that it would cause "undo hardship on the company due to accommodations needed for the employee to perform their responsibilities in office" We've been full remote since April of 2020!

Pros

Good Benefits - great 401K, PTO, Medical/Dental, ESPP, HSA options. Good first job, nice office space, solid travel benefits.

Cons

1) They do not train you at all. This company is very sink or swim - there's no formal training. In the four years I was here - any formal training department was systematically eliminated one person at a time. You better hope that you get good training from whoever was leaving's two weeks and the figure the rest of the stuff out. 2) The customer will hate you. Period. They will dislike you, dislike the company and dislike the product. 3) You will never, I mean never, get a salary bump that's more than 10%. If you start, work here for a couple years, quit and come back - you have a higher chance of being paid market than staying here long term. I watched employees who have worked here 5, 10, 15 years get outpaced salary wise by new hires simply because the company will never bring you up to market. You better hope to start off at a really good salary and never deviate from that. 4) Someone somewhere in the pipeline will jealously hoard onto information that will prevent you from moving up or doing your job effectively. This company fosters an environment of secrecy due to rolling layoffs. It's layoff season atleast twice a year. 5) You will grow in the company due to the work that is being done but very rarely will you get the title/compensation to match it.

Pros

Flexible work hours (now that we can work from home) Flexible PTO (new for 2022)

Cons

Personnel decisions sometimes made without deep thought and strategic thinking (ex. layoffs of key personnel without a plan) Too many reorgs (ex. 4th new report structure in a year, but not affecting day-to-day life)

Pros

Starting pay was competitive for the area. Good opportunity to learn newest technologies and get your feet wet in the world of software engineering.

Cons

Layoffs are abundant and seem to happen annually. Lots of reorganizing and shifting around. Always in the rearview mirror of their competitor Epic.

Pros

I had a good manager & good team.

Cons

Overall the company was losing lots of clients. They were doing constant layoffs and I was on the phone w/ people they would layoff grabbing up their work. It's very obvious Allscripts doesn't have it together. Look at KLAS research's 2022 software & services before you join this company.
