Cons

-Old boys club mentality, especially on the sales side -Terrible benefits, got worse every year over my 4 years with them -Pay is below industry average -Filing issues with HR is basically like opening your window and yelling them to strangers on the street, nothing changes

Pros

Great benefits including vacation time with the option to purchase additional days, paid maternity AND paternity leave, as well as work from home opportunities depending on the position and location (some remote positions require being outside of a 50 mile radius from the nearest office to qualify, otherwise you must commute). If you are willing to relocate, they also offer moving bonuses for certain positions, for example I moved to Texas for a year and received a $20,000 bonus with the income taxes covered by the company. Also lots of opportunities to transition to several areas throughout the company.

Cons

They claim to be customer-focused, but as with most corporations they are really focused on the numbers: production and saving the almighty dollar by whatever means necessary. Depending on your manager (I had 9 different managers in 5 years...), the team/office morale can drastically vary. When the business model shifted from field to virtual adjusting in 2017, hundreds of adjusters/managers/quality assurance employees were laid off without notice. The majority of the adjusters that were let go had 20+ years of experience, because their salaries cost the company more than the less tenured adjusters. Flash forward to 2019, and the turnover rate at their Digital Operating Centers (or DOCs) were so high that they are constantly hiring and had to start begging for the laid off adjusters to come back... Why not offer them alternate positions from the beginning?

Zero Work/Life Balance

Pros

Only pro is typically other employees

Cons

Where to even begin: No work life balance. You'll get switched from hourly to salary within 6 months, while more and more work is dumped on you. Expect to work 50-60+ hours per week and still be unable to keep up with workload, as mamagement keeps adding to your plate but never removing anything. Astronomical turnover. Entire classes of new hires starting every Monday for months on end. Great amount of PTO for new hires, but was recently capped. Don't expect to actually get to use the time off though, Mondays require more staff and it's near impossible to get one unless booked months in advance. Also don't forget, you will fall behind on vacation, your work piles up while you're away. Most stressful time ever is after having a day off. Benefits are awful for families, but passable for single workers. You still get assigned claims over the weekends. Just because you're not physically there, you still will have additional work waiting Monday morning. Pay is laughable when factoring in the number of unpaid hours you have from being salaried. You do not receive annual bonuses like other insurance carriers offer. Also, there are new changes in the pipeline with the new director in 2020, none of which benefit the employees. Every decision is focused on cutting costs and increasing company stock price. Horrible overall morale.
