Pros

Good starting salary, good training. If they like you smooth sailing.

Cons

In this region advancement into management is limited. There are a lot of positions filled with long term employees who have no reason to move on or retire. Company is constricting in the New York area so opportunity is limited.

Pros

You make a pay check. Not a good one. But that's the only pro I can see. You do get a lot of PTO days but it's impossible to get a Saturday off (everyone works Saturday's. There is a Saturday rotation but you have to meet a certain metric to get it. This time around its perfect attendance so if your kids were sick and you couldn't make it... You won't qualify for it. If you like stress, this place is awesome for you.

Cons

All of it is a con if you work in Sales. Over 5 years with the company and its only gotten worse. Occasionally they make things so impossible so people will quit then after a year or so they make it better. After 5 years with the company it can really get to you. They change rules constantly. Control skill set calls so only certain people do well. Bonus structure has changed considerably. And is near impossible to hit. Liberty Mutual is 10k more starting pay than here. The schedules are terrible. Only day off options are Monday/Tuesday, Friday/Sunday, Sunday/Wednesday... Terrible days if you have children in school. Impossible to get Saturday's off. Impossible selling rules for states. If you work here your life will be all about Allstate. They won't be all about you. Calls are scripted now and graded inconsistently. Degrees and credentials don't matter.
