Pros

The people and the benefits are great here. If you network into certain groups you will find there's pretty much an expert for everything so the sky is the limit to getting the resources you need to perform your job and learn new things. As far as benefits, I had 25 days of PTO plus 5 days of carry-over--something not every company offers.

Cons

Just as there are pockets of the company where a premium placed on critical thinking and business acumen, there are also pockets of the company where your career basically boils down to how good you can sell yourself--even if you do it by misleading others. This proves to be an ethical dilemma for much of the best analytical talent.

Pros

There is a semi regular work schedule which can make planning your week fairly easy.

Cons

The various departments of the company have terrible communication. You can call underwriting about a customer issue and they give you an answer which turns out to be completely wrong. The rep will tell you something is approved, you write it and then 7 days later it is not approved. When you call back you get a different person that gives you an entirely different answer. The same goes for billing. The systems the company use do not integrate and they are extremely outdated. There is almost no support for new Agency owners from corporate. The agency owners typically pay poorly hourly, you make the bulk of your money off of commission, however 70% of your day may be dedicated to service, billing and underwriting issues leaving little to no time for actually making sales. You end up sacrificing your own financial security in order to retain business. The systems look like theyre 20 years old and are not user friendly at all. Depending on your agency owner you may get no benefits, medical or dental or even vacation time. All in all this is one of the absolute worst companies I have ever worked for. The corporate departments are a joke. Underwriting and billing give a different answer every single time you talk to them and the company does not give agents relevant updates. I can not wait to find a new job and get out of this horrible company. I am embarrassed I even put my name on these policies.
