Pros

I love the employees. I have worked for companies where your growth was stifled due to jealousy or backstabbing. At Allstate the overall everyone has everyone's interest in mind. I also love that I have been given opportunities to develop myself. Thank you Allstate for investing in my career and for believing in me. The work is challenging and I believe that for those that work hard Allstate does the same.

Cons

We have some things we need to work through but part of it is that Allstate is such a large enterprise that working across boundaries is sometimes difficult. The company has put llarge investments in trying to alleviate the silos and division within organizations

Pros

It is a large company with a lot of opportunities to advance and move around if you aren't happy with where you are. There are also a lot of management communications to make sure that employees know what is going on in the higher levels of the company and what the managers think about the direction of the company and the department. Cons

A lot of the managers are not very technical or knowledgeable about the departments in which they are managers. Many managers move around between units and have no real knowledge about the underlying jobs of the people who they manage.A lot of the managers are not very technical or knowledgeable about the departments in which they are managers. Pros

Mgmt actually cares about their employees. There is a great balance between work and home. There is a genuine feeling of caring for customers behind the scenes. That is difficult to project sometimes from an adjuster who is handling 250 people at one time.

Cons

More work than possible in 8 hours a day
