Pros

-You get PTO upfront , started off with 20+days. -The coworkers were ok -Allstate often provided free lunch and snacks

Cons

-For the amount of stress you endure , You are extremely underpaid for the job. They will lie about the job description and start you off at a decent pay just to get you in the door. I would consider any other options before taking "this" job within Allstate . -They sugarcoat the job description during the interview. The calls are extremely stressful, you will be super-micromanaged and the set goals are hard to maintain without loosing your sanity. -The system breaks EVERYDAY. Which causes you to deal with angry repeat callers , back to back for hours. Our divisions projected call volume is higher than any other dept. so you will end up taking back to back calls while everyone around you walks around all day . - The training on new systems is a joke. You are expected to troubleshoot new /old problems using knowledge articles , created by you and your peers who are barely trained on the subject or by higher up's who never have/ recently taken a phone call . - There is no work life balance , your mood eventually changes , Everyone I know within this position has developed anxiety or depression issues since starting this job. -The office politics are crazy , managers will let you know it's not only about how hard you work but how much your liked that makes your experience at Allstate . If you are not an butt kisser you will not move up .. PERIOD . The office gossip is at a all time high . - Opportunities to advance do not happen within frontline. If it does it is a very slow process, i have worked with people that have been on front line 6+ years. Instead Allstate will give you the opportunity to get on a "Temporary Assignment or TDY" it ranges about 3-6months which are rarely offered . You are trained in for a higher up position, but no pay increase, Just an "opportunity" to be temp. cross trained and off the phones . But after your assignment is over , Then your sent right back to the phones you hate . It's just one huge tease.

Cons

-most departments in Marketing don't allow work from home -the older employees hate millennials -5-10 years behind in technology -very political environment -they only promotion unskilled people -They micromanage -people that work there say they are happy but deep down hate working there and they have no other option. -they fire hundreds of people at a time in the headquarters of Northbrook because they are transitioning to other regional headquarters. -Not a creative work place - managers don't respect you and treat you like a number

Pros

You do get a paycheck and when you leave you will appreciate being away from the toxic work environment. You will have many examples of real life ethical lapses to share during discussions.

Cons

Unfair treatment, HR is not helpful, dead end, company does not invest in employees and lousy business ethics across the company
