Pros

Flexible hours, great back-end support, good product

Cons

Allstate insurance is competing for the same ideal, low risk, customers as State Farm, Farmers, Safeco, Travelers, etc. They are not very competitive. Poor agency owner support. Lots of agencies for sale.

Pros

- Great benefits - Flexible work arrangements in most areas - Family friendly

Cons

- Insecure, inexperienced managers who can't lead - No bonuses for employees, only those who are manager level and above are eligible for bonus compensation - Passive aggressive culture - Lack of cultural diversity in positions of influence (Middle Management, Senior Leadership, Executive Team, Officer Group) - Heavily process driven Project Management Office

Pros

Should you be so lucky to be paired with a great leadership team, then you would have a great career. The benefits were great. Accumulating PTO the longer you stay with the company, great benefits, great leadership depending on the the legacy of the department.

Cons

1. Lay-offs are common. 2. Work life balance doesn't exist. 3. Although you have great benefits & PTO, if you use these benefits, depending on the leadership/department it's not encouraged for you to use these benefits. Which can ultimately affect your health. But some departments are more concerned with THEIR bottom line. 4. Depending on how they feel about you, will determine what goes on your review. 5. Although, they will tell you certain information, they will input what they want to on your file. Which can affect future employment or growth with the company. 6. Depending on the department, leadership is not strong or trustworthy.
