Pros

Great benefits, flexible scheduling, good pay

Cons

The company is in a state of flux a lot, especially because Esurance is being incorporated into Allstate and the plans of how to fit everything change a lot. Restructuring can change how the job fits into the rest of a department.

Pros

The pay is reasonable, the PTO provided is better than most employers I've found. The area that focuses on culture and diversity is thoughtful and trying hard to make a good company culture.

Cons

The health insurance provided is very expensive and doesn't cover an individual or family very well.

Pros

Allstate has made a very real effort to create a better work life experience, especially in their call centers. Employees are beginning to see the benefits of this effort with smaller work loads, more time with direct leaders, more developmental opportunities and a company wide sharing of opinions and ideas at a front line level.

Cons

If you are not in home office (Northbrook, IL) career focused positions are fewer to choose from and often times for career growth you will have to relocate, with the biggest catch being that Allstate has started moving their claims/service centers to smaller towns. The internal job posting process moves very slowly and can be frustrating.
