Their mission statement is "To ensure the long-term success of Alro and it's people", but unless you are wearing a polo shirt and khakis, it doesn't apply to you at all. Management will tell you how to do your job even though they have 0% knowledge and experience on 90% of the equipment they have. They always contradict themselves and change the game plan regularly. Completely understaffed and unorganized. You are expected to do the work load of multiple people and whether you give 100% or not it's never good enough for them. You only have to work 4 days a week (the shifts are 10 hours), which isn't bad, but if you can't come in on your day off they get mad for some reason. They have more tempts working in their warehouse than regular employees because people keep quitting do to the extreme work load and lack of help. The equipment is so broken, faulty and so unsafe that I'm surprise nobody has reported them to OSHA yet. And don't expect it to get fixed anytime soon because the maintenance guy sits in his office all day and does nothing. I wouldn't consider Alro a "career" job, but a short-term job to get the basics/knowledge of all the different categories of steel for some place better.
