Mostly really nice people to work with Excellent compensation and retirement plan / contribution;average benefits Challenging work Nice working environments

Cons

Lack of diversity in executive and senior leadership and little interest to change that Promotions based on ability to manage upward, not on competence, performance Shrinking business leads to constant belt tightening and few promotional opportunities Old school practices around flexible working arrangements, part-time, etc. Commitment level equated as hours in the office Risk adverse culture - lawyers review everything, all decisionsmade about 2 levels higher than they should be

Great place to work if you're ok with Tobacco

Pros

Great benefits, great pay, challenging work at all levels, great coworkers, definitely the best place to work in Richmond Virginia

Cons

Even though the company is responsible about making and marketing tobacco, you have to be personally okay with the concept of smoking in general. If you can get past that, it's a great place to work. It's also very hierarchical and (naturally) VERY sensitive to legal matters - legal has to approve EVERYTHING.
