Pros

Strong legacy and name recognition – Historically a respected company with a solid reputation. Above-average compensation and benefits – Still competitive in pay and perks for many roles. Initial training and onboarding – Well-developed programs for new hires, especially in sales roles.

Cons

Declining leadership vision – Upper management continues to make poor, inconsistent decisions. Lack of innovation – No strong or competitive products in the pipeline or current marketplace. Financial instability – Cash reserves have been depleted due to questionable acquisitions funded by long-term debt. Toxic culture – Morale is low, trust is eroded, and fear and suspicion are widespread. Extreme micromanagement – Employees face excessive oversight and shifting expectations. Frequent layoffs and outsourcing – Constant restructuring with jobs being sent overseas. Poor internal communication – Mixed messages and confusing asks from leadership are common. Bleak long-term career value – Experience at Altria may not carry weight with future employers due to its ongoing decline.

Pros

Great benefits, pay is good, retirement, etc. This is a great stepping stone. Temper your expectations and understand that if you are not the color, gender, etc. they seek that you will not move forward.

Cons

Only if you fit a certain mold born out of race, gender, and/ or sexual preference will you be able to propel your career here. They truly do discriminate on the basis of the aforementioned 'classes'. However, the good news is that the most discriminated class is straight, white man, so do yourself a favor and 'identify' as something else. Seriously, it will help your career.

Pros

Decent pay, company car, good 401k match. If you have a decent manager the job is great, if you have a micro manager don’t expect them to ever be held accountable for the things they do

Cons

Company actually sent an email to all employees saying that “white males and their masculinity cause others to feel that they need to change”. Health insurance is awful if you use it. Don’t plan on getting promoted unless you fit on the diversity scale... managers will even tell you this, ask questions about this policy and you won’t be around long.
