Decent product but company going downhill

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Good product, comp is completive, good customers

Cons

Major growing pains ahead. Quite possibly moving too fast and customers are pissed. They hired employees as remote and are forcing an RTO without providing any actual data just the CEO rambling about his feelings. Going to be huge workforce turnover that will cause a lot of pain for customers. Sad to see such a thriving company start going downhill.

Pros

The pay was pretty good for where I lived. There were some smart people that I worked with. The product was interesting.

Cons

The job became this all-encompassing source of anxiety. I felt like I was being asked to do too little, but somehow was drawn into so many meetings and death marches to get out critical features. Simultaneously I was dealing with some really weighty personal issues and just didn't feel like my employer cared at all. The only priority was to get features out to make more money. They promised unlimited PTO but I was never made to feel like I could actually use it. The CEO said some really abhorrent things in company meetings.

Ambitious vision, smart people, hard work

Pros

Visionary CEO leading a team of talented people towards a super consequential mission. Tons of growth potential, massive TAM... if we execute well this is a huge opportunity for career growth and impact.

Cons

Need to transition from speed-of-execution focus to quality focus. Leadership comms could occasionally be better coordinated.
