Pros
I truly love Altruist's mission and knew I was a great fit in terms of values because Kindness, Brilliance, and Grit are all part of my personal life motto. I also loved the work I was hired to do and was passionate about keeping the flywheel turning.
Cons
We launched multiple company-wide initiatives at the same time, almost during tax season, which has led to a lot of internal disfunction. I'm not sure who thought that doing anything besides focusing on self-clearing would be a good idea but we weren't prepared. Specific to my role, I asked multiple times for next steps for promotions and was told my manager and HR "didn't know." They wanted me to take on more work with no pathway to promotion or even getting paid more. Very disappointing that they don't care enough to retain employees. I had high hopes that this company would walk the talk, but leadership clearly isn't showing kindness, brilliance, and grit despite talking about it often. I would only recommend this place to work as a short-term opportunity since they don't care to support long-term growth.
