Pros

There are great cultural principles laid out by Amazon. Many people try to follow them but often choose the principle(s) which speak most to them drive their use of the other principles. Amazon pays very well, but also has a sneaky habit of locking you into their model of base + RSU after giving a fantastic two year sign on bonus.

Cons

Very fragmented company which has factions vying for power and resources. No longer the flat company that Jeff Bezos envisioned. It has become super corporate with no one person steering the ship. Thousands of tiny factions are myopic in their vision and care very little any more about the end customer whether it is internal or external. It is a company beginning to creak under the weight of everything it is trying to do.
