Pros

- The pay is more competitive per hour than most agencies. - Easy to apply to, not competitive for positions.

Cons

- Too political and heavy micromanaging. With several shifts (from 12-hour to 24-hour shifts), I have not been able to stop and eat because I am constantly status-checked every 15 minutes. You will get in trouble for any delay to a scheduled IFT. - Pay per hour is good, but traditional 911 pays the same yearly on average, with the schedule you are forced to work. - Equipment in the IFT sectors is lacking. - Recently got rid of many opportunities for overtime, which is where most people made their money. Overtime is slowly becoming harder to obtain with the CEO stating overtime is not meant to be "spent on covering shifts for people who do not want to show up to work." Many locations have introduced a new schedule prohibiting any overtime. There is a reason people do not show up to work; eliminating overtime does not address the bad work conditions. - Sometimes you are forced to stay over past your schedule for a scheduled IFT. - I would say over 85% of people leave after 2 years on the job. This represents the work environment. People who stay after 2 years, I have not met a single one who enjoys their job. Most are college kids who need a flexible schedule (though the new schedule many are forced into no longer allows this), or others who are content where they are. - You can apply for one location and be sometimes forced to work in another, even if the other location pays more, you will not receive this for the work you do there. - You will work out of van-ambulances; no one likes them for 911. Several times in bad calls, I would have to get out of the ambulance and walk around to enter from another side to continue patient care. I do not know why they continue to buy these; maybe there is a good reason. They also have several issues past 100k miles, making them sometimes unreliable. - There have been several times my direct supervisor has tried to do something with the more senior leaders, not allowing it, harming many workers in some capacity. Many of these leaders are not even present to talk to us, yet they are heavily changing our work environment, contrary to what our direct supervisors say. - There is much more I could say, but overall, I would not recommend AmeriPro EMS to someone looking for a job they enjoy. They do pay more per hour, but most 911 agencies have built in overtime, so that negates that pro.
