Hired full time, given part time hours

Pros

It’s a job. That’s about it

Cons

GM was awesome, district manager was so far up his own rear end it wasn’t even funny. Was hired on at $12 an hour with two degrees. Offered full time and slowly doctors started leaving our store and at one point I was begging upper management for hours. District manager doesn’t care, his pockets are too full to care about his employees. Whole company is a scam in itself. We scare customers into buying retinal imaging at the possibility of seeing something when the doctors can see everything just fine without the retinal imaging. Impossible to meet sales quota for retinal imaging with a doctor available 4 times a month. Don’t hire a tech with 4 doctor days a month.

Good entry level job

Pros

You get commission if 1%.

Cons

You do not get the training since they don't have many employees that want to stay. The turn over for employees is so high that every time a customer comes in there's someone new working. They want employees working from open to close daily and have 4 people closing when it's supposed to be 2.

Don't Pay Enough

Pros

The Job Is Easy Enough

Cons

Understaffed constantly and everyone is underpaid very badly. Receptionists are paid like $11-12 an hour and associates are paid like $12/hr plus a 1% commission but that is nothing when you sell thousands of dollars worth of glasses and lenses per week. In the end a full time associate like myself made like $850-950 depending on how busy or slow the week was. If they bumped up the commission and upped the based pay to $14-15 and hour they would get more people in the door. And the underpaid receptions is why we couldn't keep any. Even Management is underpaid! Now for the techs they were also underpaid and had to be trained under the doctors so double pressure. Just no good all around and it starts with pay. Just pay your people!
