The Society is stuck in mid-century management techniques. They are slow to adapt to current strategies for managing a modern workforce, slow to exploit current technology to keep pace with a highly competitive non-profit sector and staff top management with people who have for the most part worked their entire careers at the Society and do not bring a modern approach to the organization. This is a very hierarchical culture where facilitative leadership is discouraged and teams do not own their work.

the senior management in my region was appallingly incompetent. when dealing with some inappropriate comments made at a meeting by a senior director, i received no help from the regional vice president. Human Resources was helpful although sometimes a bit too slow with their response. found out after i was hired that there was an extremely high turnover rate for my position. senior management continued to belittle my job performance to coworkers months after i had left the company. very poor professionalism.
