The boats i saw all need major work.

For some, the time away from home. Working a mth on and off. Dealing with different and conflicting personalities. The work is hard on your body. Can be hard mentally not being home to deal with problems. The pay is nowhere near what it should be for the hard work of the job. It's a dangerous job and should be paid accordingly. Working in all types of weather... But mostly the pay is not worth everything you have to deal with. Unless you love it...if so...try to move up fast to actually my good, family support training money.
