Pros

Nice people to work with, pay was good, benefits were ok, and it was good when it was good! I worked there for several years and then new management made so really bad choices.

Cons

System tools issues constantly! It used to be Platinum card card was taken care of by just Platinum card agents and card members were taken care of nicely, then they merged everything with all card types except Centurion to be taken care of by those same platinum card agents! Bad move! Online should have stayed online for all other card types. The card member knew it! They were paying a high fee and not getting what they deserved! You can book on Expedia and get the same result, Online is Expedia. After seeing many people let go without warring it was time to go. It was a good place years back, but lots has changed shifting to outsource its services. Better to look for true brands that stick to what they do well. AMEX travel has changed, may not ever be the same, I heard this from countless customers. Just ask someone who has been a card member for years. They will tell you! Even the Pointsguy knows the quality has changed for this brand.

Pros

Top Notch Benefits. They've got it all. Yearly Performance Bonus is generous Company is always doing well and almost never laying people off

Cons

Not all teams are the same. The best people always leave; Amex is a stepping stone The CEO is significantly left of center politically and regularly affirms the relevant values and opinions in company-wide communications. He's in lockstep with the mainstream liberal media and liberal party lines. He speaks as if everyone at the company holds those same views and that any other views are obviously wrong and unwelcome at the company. If you're at all skeptical of the mainstream, liberal, corporate and political establishment, it's a bit off-putting to have the CEO parroting the very same party lines and expecting you to share them.
