      Micro-management Senior Executive, he acts more like a field general then a strategist.

      Pros

      Great colleagues, The directors are collaborative on the west. All directors were new to the job in 2010 and they all embrace change and worked well together.

      Cons

      Commission plan is flawed. The quotas continue to change and the OTE for the field does not promote the correct habits. You are paid 6-8 weeks after the quarter ends. Resources are in short supply and the operations team are short handed so you have to wait 8 weeks before you get an implementation team. The sales ops and Sales teams are paid on two plans

      Pros

      They have a very large base of partners and benefits that they offer to all employees to take advantage of. They promote personal growth and encourage employees to give back to the communities.

      Cons

      People stay with American Express for their entire career so if you're in a small office it can be difficult to move up in the company unless you are willing to relocate.

      Freedom to choose own schedule. Good amount of vacation days to start

      Cons

      Initial training program was horrible, yet performance expectations remained as if formal training provided. Salary and bonus low compared to competition Managers have no working knowledge of job they are charged with supervising Promotions based on politics not performance
