Great Place to Work but Economy Creates Challenges

Pros

Good pay, great benefits, and an emphasis on work-life balance. Positive and caring atmosphere. Very rewarding.

Cons

Restructing/layoffs have created training difficulties & increased workload on current employees. Economy adds additional pressure. Company is fairly management heavy.

Pros

The AHA does a wonderful job of respecting an employee's work/life balance. I appreciate that the company promotes from within and many of the upper-level senior management are intelligent, respectful, and professional.

Cons

Unfortunately, due to the economy the AHA's training structure all but tanked. The company's formal training consists of way too many conference calls and an online "university" learning center which you don't have time to take courses on. It seems that there are too many chiefs and not enough indians, especially in cut-backs. It feels like they're moving back to a generalist structure where you manage multiple events.

The AHA is overall a great place to work. All of the employees are very passionate about their job and the mission of the organization

Cons

The AHA is a good place to work, but just as with any corporate organization, there are politics at work
