A business run on lies

Pros

You were paid on a weekly basis

Cons

AIL was a joke to work at. You worked from 10 am- 9pm without pay unless you made a sale. When you get hired, you have to get your insurance license and pay for it yourself. After you pass, you go through 2 full weeks of training without pay. Then you get trained in the field where any sale you make goes to the managers. You won't see a dime of those sales. I felt like everything was based on lies. We would go to community events selling the child safety kits. We would lure people into letting us into their homes to gives them these kits just to sell them insurance. They never know we were going to be doing a sales presentation to them, so they were blindsided. They'd let us in thinking they were getting a free kit just for us to try and sell life insurance to them. I ended up just telling people at the events what was going to happen so they wouldn't be blindsided. And I wouldn't be wasting my time, gas, and money driving to them. I started working at AIL after my dad died and he didn't have insurance. I felt it was important. I didn't think it was going to be the way it was. You're completely micromanaged. It made my depression so bad that I ended up just not going in anymore. My conscience couldn't handle it anymore. HR keeps replying that this job requires someone self disciplined. But I think it just requires someone who doesn't care about people.

BEWARE THIS IS A SCAM

Pros

Employees were kind. You MIGHT make money by deceiving people into getting a life insurance policy but you might not. No guarantees.

Cons

This is an MLM Pyramid Scheme SCAM. The company focuses heavily on recruiting. High premiums for low-income families. You have to put money in to work for them and they purposely make things extremely unclear to lure recruits in. Specifically they like to take advantage of younger people.

Pros

If you just got laid off and have a nice severance to keep you comfy and try something new, this is a great new hobby. You learn new things, meet people, drive around for hours, not make money, but get paid in experience. You will make money eventually, but don't make it about the money. Make it about the opportunity!

Cons

If you are on your last dollar. Don't even bother coming in for an interview. You need $400 to get started. Don't go broke to maybe make money in a few months.
