Pros

Basic hours and office job

Cons

Due to lots of restructuring it is changing everyday and makes it difficult to know whats going on. Eliminating much of the customer service area which is what most of the general public associates with the company.

Solid college job.

Pros

Pay is ok for living expenses while going to college and unlike most employers offer benefits like health insurance even to part time workers (after the probationary period).

Cons

They like to have a reason to let you go after the probationary period. Training/paperwork/red tape can be cumbersome and boring.

Pros

The upper management is very appreciative of employees, interns, and volunteers. Everyone is very friendly and happy to be there. Their happiness translates into a strong work ethic and a great work environment.

Cons

Because the American Red Cross is a non-profit, it has limited funds and it is technologically challenged. I had to work with outdated computers and software. (Although its CDOC is state of the art!)
