Pros

ASC-built communities are attractive, and full-service of different levels of care exist at new facilities, which is advantageous to residents for continuity of care.

Cons

Favoritism is practiced by management to the point of forming cliques and exclusion of members of management team making teamwork virtually non-existent, management is out of touch with non-management staff, top management is sarcastic & derogatory in public to lower management or non-management staff. No raises, decrease in PTOs earned, and corporate matching deposit to 401K discontinued for 2012 and announced at Christmas time 2011. Someone is getting rich, but it is not facility staff. Favorite management staff are not held to the same standards as others. Corporate consultant involvement is non-existent and a joke; none of them can agree on procedures to follow, or they give wishy-washy answers then punish later for non-compliance to procedures/policies. There is no equality at facility

Pros

Flexibility in work schedule, cohesion between therapists

Cons

Poor CNA staff who do not care about patients rights (some great nursing staff, however, very overworked and poorly staffed), very very poor benefits (taking away of 401 k contribution, less PTO earned, no raises at year end), poor management of staff, poor interdisciplinary communication (besides between therapy disciplines), poor appreciation of staff, company cares only about making money rather than patients' rights and needs .. etc etc. I could go on and on......
